About Filmmaker Andrew Rossi

Andrew Rossi is the Emmy-nominated director, writer and executive producer of The Andy Warhol Diaries. The Netflix series is a hybrid of scripted recreations and non-fiction, penetrating the myth around one of the most influential cultural figures of our time.

Deconstructing the myths around individuals and institutions that define critical moments is a common theme in Rossi's work, including his award winning films Page One: Inside the New York Times, about the NYT's media desk and Ivory Tower, which both premiered at Sundance. He also directed the film The First Monday in May, following the annual Met Gala, and he produced the short film revisiting the legacy of Sigmund Freud, Hysterical Girl, which was short-listed for the Academy Award.

Previously Rossi executive produced the Netflix series 7 Days Out, directing episodes on NASA's Cassini mission and Karl Lagerfeld's last fashion show. He also directed the HBO film After Truth, investigating the problem of false news on social media, which was nominated for a DuPont award. Through his production company Abstract, Rossi produces various projects, including the HBO true crime documentaries I Love You Now Die and Mommy, Dead and Dearest, as well as The Gospel According to Andre.

He is a member of the WGA, the DGA, the Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Television Academy.
